RALEIGH, NC – Tutco, Inc., one of the world’s largest suppliers of open coil heating elements, will expand its manufacturing facility in Arden, NC. The company plans to create 90 jobs and invest more than $500,000 over the next three years.

The project was made possible, in part, by a performance-based grant from the One North Carolina Fund of up to $98,000. The One NC Fund provides financial assistance, through local governments, to attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity and create new jobs in the state. Companies receive no money up front and must meet job creation and investment performance standards to qualify for grant funds. These grants also require and are contingent upon local matches.

Other partners that helped with this project include: the N.C. Department of Commerce, N.C. Community Colleges, Buncombe County, the City of Asheville and the Economic Development Coalition of Asheville-Buncombe County.

Producing 35,000 to 38,000 heaters a day, Tutco holds 80 percent of U.S. patents in open coil heating technology. Tutco heating components can be found in commercial applications, including refrigeration, HVAC, appliance, lab equipment and vending.
