Frigidaire FT4BE Heat Pump
ST. LOUIS, MO – Frigidaire heating and cooling improves the 14/15-SEER FT4BE Heat Pump by adding durable all-aluminum Micro-Channel condensing coils. Frigidaire is keeping ahead of other heating and air conditioning manufacturers by incorporating these exceptional coils into their heat pump designs – they are the first manufacturer to use these coils in heat pumps.
This improvement comes a year after Frigidaire expanded the use of Micro-Channel coils into all air conditioners up to, and including, 16 SEER.
“This upgrade goes to show that at Frigidaire we are always thinking of ways to make the heating and cooling experience better for homeowners and contractors,” says Matt Lattanzi, Frigidaire director of product management. “We are proud to be the first manufacturer to offer these industry-leading coils in heat pumps.”
The benefits of outdoor Micro-Channel condensing coils include:
- Size Reduction: These coils help reduce the weight of the condensing unit by 6-7 percent (when compared to outdoor units using traditional coils). They also reduce the height of some models by up to 4 inches.
- Reduced Refrigerant Levels: Units with Micro-Channel coils use less refrigerant than other units – up to 42 percent less refrigerant.
- Increased Durability: These coils are more resistant than traditional copper tube-in-fin coils because of their consistent structure.
- Heat Transfer: Because Micro-Channel coils facilitate the transfer of heat better than other coils, the size of the unit can be reduced and the efficiency of the unit can be increased.
